Lawrence E. Lohman
MD, F.A.C.S.

A nationally acknowledged pioneer in eye care, Lawrence E. Lohman, M.D., F.A.C.S., has been recognized in Best Doctors in America and as a Northeast Ohio Top Doc 17 years in a row. He has earned the reputation as the “doctor other doctors trust” by performing countless eye procedures on fellow physicians and their family members.

The founder and Medical Director of Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons and St. Clare Surgery Center, Dr. Lohman was among the first surgeons in the Ohio to perform LASIK and Laser Cataract Surgery. He has spoken nationally and internationally on eye issues, including presentations in Russia, Japan and throughout Europe and the United States, and has been a frequent contributor to leading medical and scientific publications.

Dr. Lohman has performed tens of thousands of cataract and LASIK procedures and has helped train other ophthalmologists to perform these surgeries as well. He presently serves as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Northeast Ohio Medical University.

Married with three children, Dr. Lohman enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, cycling, gardening and traveling. He resides in Hudson.

Mark F. Jones
MD, F.A.C.S.

Dr. Marc Jones, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a nationally known leader in cataract and cornea surgery. Recognized in Best Doctors in America and as a Cleveland Magazine Top Doctor. He has been selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) multiple times to conduct important clinical studies on corneal transplantation and other eye conditions.

He serves as the Clinical Director at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons and as the chairman of ophthalmology at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center. Dr. Jones has performed tens of thousands of cataract and LASIK procedures. He is an innovator in corneal transplantation, including DSAEK, DMEK and DALK. These incredibly delicate surgeries preserve the normal layers of the cornea and provide better vision and faster recovery.

Dr. Jones has trained at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world. After graduating first in his class in Chemical Engineering and Applied Mathematics, he earned his degree in medicine from Yale University. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital, which is consistently rated as one of the top three ophthalmology programs in the United Stated by US News and World Reports. Dr. Jones then completed fellowship training in cornea, complex anterior segment surgery and refractive (LASIK) surgery. Dr. Jones scored in the top 1% of graduating eye surgeons on his board examinations.

Dr. Jones is dedicated to teaching our next generation of doctors. He an assistant clinical professor at The Ohio State University and an associate clinical professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He serves as the primary educator of corneal surgery at Summa Health Systems. He has received the “Teacher of the Year” award multiple times. He lectures both regionally and nationally.

Married with three children, Dr. Jones enjoys competitive tennis, cycling, woodworking, piano and photography. He is fluent in Spanish and resides in Kent.

Matthew Willett
M.D., F.A.C.S.

Matthew Willett, M.D. is a leading innovator in the treatment and management of glaucoma. A highly skilled cataract surgeon in addition to his glaucoma expertise, Dr. Willett is one of the first surgeons in the area to perform iStent surgery, a microscopic procedure which enables the treatment of some types of glaucoma during cataract surgery. A fellowship-trained glaucoma surgeon, Dr. Willett has been selected to participate in several FDA clinical trials and has contributed numerous articles to scientific and medical journals. He presently serves as a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the Northeast Ohio Medical University. Married with two children, Dr. Willett enjoys woodworking, hiking, weight lifting and fishing. He resides in Akron.
